Is Selling My Virginity Legal?

In Canada, yes it is.

Its not like I am a sex worker here. I have always considered myself to be a good, moral and law-abiding citizen. Thus I did some research on how legal selling my virginity is.

Canada's laws prohibit the solicitation of sex (pimping), but women are free to sell sex or in this case their virginity for any price they want. (In Canada brothels recently became legal.)

ie. It would be illegal if I was underage, but fortunately I will be 18 when I finally lose my virginity in 2012. (I can bring my birth certificate when we meet if you don't believe me.)

The good news is I am not looking to sell my virginity to a whole football team here.

Just one man. First come first served. One show only. No cameras please.

For me my anonymity is more about keeping my reputation intact than any legal ramifications. I may lose a small bit of my self respect, but I was probably going to lose a bit of my self respect anyway after losing my virginity to some guy who swept me off my feet.

I read recently that 10% of women experience sadness after sex (not just losing their virginity, but sex in general) because they didn't have an orgasm. So I imagine there are a lot of depressed women out there who aren't having orgasms at all.

I haven't seen the statistics for post-losing-virginity, but I imagine its pretty common for women to be disappointed and depressed. Especially when the douchebag guy runs off with another girl. I also think there are women who end up gaining more confidence in themselves afterwards. I don't know what will happen, but I shall try to be optimistic about the results.

I digress.

Yes, selling my virginity is perfectly legal. Ethical is a whole other matter...
